Amin began his career in California, consulting to industries on venture capital activities, technology, investment and joint ventures, and to governments on attracting foreign investment and development. He attended the University of London, then earned a Ph.D., in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.  Amin is a member of several boards worldwide. He has advised a number of governments on economic development including Ireland, France, Jordan, UAE, South Africa, Malaysia, Switzerland and Indonesia.  He is a fellow of the Royal Aeroautical Society.
